Victoria “Vickie” Marie Misenhimer gained her Angel Wings on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Our beloved Mother/Grandmother/Sister passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years old, at Diamond Terraces in Hanford, CA. Vickie was the fifth child born to Mexican immigrant parents, in Porterville, CA, on November 17, 1934. Vickie married Bill Misenhimer on November 8, 1953, in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Kingsburg.
Vickie’s main priorities were her family, especially taking care of her daughter, Michelle and her mother Jessie. Her Catholic faith meant everything to her and she ensured that her children were raised in the Catholic Religion.
Vickie dedicated her life to raising her three children, while creating a warm, welcoming home on Alta Way that became the neighborhood gathering place for friends of her children. She attended Oakvale Grammar School in Kings County and graduated from Hanford Joint Union High School in 1952. She was an amazing cook and had a passion for dancing, sewing and arts/crafts. She was very involved in the McCarthy Catholic school that her children, Debbie & Jeff attended, was a Cub Scout leader and very instrumental in helping form the first school for disabled children in Hanford, now known as Shelly Baird School.
Her entire working career started and ended in Hanford, beginning as a lead Secretary at the Kings County Sheriff Department, a Debt Collector at the Kings County Credit Bureau and finishing her working career as a Debt Collector for Doctors Lusby and Princeton.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lazaro & Jessie Hernandez, her husband of 40 years, Bill Misenhimer, her daughter, Michelle Suzanne, her brothers Bob, Gilbert, Felix, Larry and Leo.
She is survived by siblings Florence Denham and Rudy Hernandez. Daughter Debbie (Mark) Nardini and son Jeff (Janice) Misenhimer, grandchildren, Chaya (Matt) Gomes, Kelsie Nardini, Justin (Robyn) Misenhimer and Jason (Tammy) Misenhimer, great-grandchildren Gage & Zane Misenhimer, Zach, Matthew, Beau & Brielle Misenhimer and Gianna Gomes.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Wednesday May 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at Saint Brigid Catholic Church, 1001 North Douty Street, Hanford, CA. Burial to follow services at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 South 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.
The Family would like to give their thanks to Jan Norman and Staff at Diamond Terraces in Hanford, for their dedication and loving care for our Mom these past two years.
