Rafael Alcala

Rafael Alcala, a longtime resident of Hanford, passed away at the age of 93 on Thursday January 4, 2024, with his family by his side.  Born in Mexico on July 7th 193,0 in Chavinda, Michoacán he immigrated to the United States as a teenager. He met and married Sara Garcia and the two of them started a family and a farm together. Through hard work, dedication, and a strong love of family provided them with a successful family farm.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sara and survived by 5 children Ralph Alcala Jr. (Denise), Rose Ramia, Carlos Alcala, Adolf Alcala (Susan), Joe Alcala, 8 grandchildren Joshua Ramia, Travis Ramia, Sara DeLaCruz, Matthew Alcala, Kelsey King, Andrew Alcala, Christopher Alcala, and Cassandra Alcala, and 5 Great-grandaughters Bria, Ava, Nora, Harper, and Natalie. 

Viewing will be held at Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Home, January 21st from 3-6pm with the Rosary at 5:00 P.M.  Funeral Mass will be held on January 22nd at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 10 A.M.  with burial following after at Calvary Cemetery.
