Oscar Casarez Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Oscar R. Casarez, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on February 10, 2026, in Hanford, California.

Oscar was born on August 27, 1939, in Hanford, California, to Rosario Casarez and Josephine Renteria. He married the love of his life, Barbara Araujo, on August 15, 1959. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage until her passing on January 24, 2019. Oscar devoted himself to caring for Barbara for 22 years during her untimely illness, and his family will forever be grateful for his unwavering love and dedication.

Oscar filled his life with deep love and commitment to his family. He was a proud father to his three daughters and their spouses: Kathy and Frank Rivera, Stephanie and Joe Ordonez, and Sutton and Ed Guzman. He was the cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren: Kaylyn (Daniel) Solorio, Jared (Laura) Ordonez, Ryan (Courtney) Rivera, Bree (Kirk) Meeks, Taylor (Brandon) King, Karsyn Guzman, Clay (Taylor) Guzman, and Kalvyn Guzman ( Chase Waddell).
He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Jace and Jordan Ordonez, Charleigh Solorio, Kendall DeLaCruz, Kennedy, Kohen, Kole Meeks, and Lenny and Cade Rivera, along with one unborn great-grandchild, Jett Guzman, whom he looked forward to meeting.

Oscar retired from Pirelli Armstrong after 33 years of dedicated service. He attended local schools in Hanford and proudly served as class president of his eighth-grade class at Woodrow Wilson. In his youth, he was a yo-yo champion and enjoyed playing Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. An avid golf player, Oscar played for many years and won numerous trophies, including several for hole-in one achievements. He was also a founding member of the Mexican American Golfing Association (MAGA), where he formed lasting friendships and shared his passion for the game.
He was extremely proud of his three daughters and lovingly considered his sons-in-law as the sons he never had. Oscar took great pride in maintaining his immaculate yard and found joy in keeping his home beautiful. He enjoyed trips to Las Vegas in his earlier years and later preferred visiting The Palace, appreciating its closeness and familiarity.
Oscar will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to family, gentle spirit, and generous heart. His love, guidance, and example will live on through the many lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
