Norma entered into rest on April 11, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born to parents John and Hazel Maccagno of Armona, CA. Norma attended Hanford High School, graduating in 1959. She was attending College of the Sequoias when she met her future husband, Leon Hahn. They married in 1962 and made their home in Hanford, sharing 32 wonderful years together. They had two daughters, Kelli and Julie. She was also Nonna to her granddaughter Sadie, which was a role she cherished. She and Sadie could often be found in the kitchen baking desserts together. Norma also shared her Italian heritage by making homemade ravioli and lasagna on special occasions. She was a baseball fan, cheering for either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the San Francisco Giants, depending on which son-in-law she was with at the time.
Norma worked for Hanford Elementary School District in the front office of various local schools for 33 years. In addition to her family and work, Norma enjoyed walking, bowling, reading, and maintaining her home and yard. After retiring, she enjoyed attending monthly Book Club meetings, serving in the Adoration Chapel at St. Brigid Catholic Church, and volunteering at Adventist Hospital in Hanford. She was also blessed to have many special friends with whom she spent time.
Norma is survived by daughter Kelli Steele (husband Chris), daughter Julie Hahn-Garcia (husband Ruben), and granddaughter Sadie. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Larrouy, sisters-in-law Clara Silva, Dorothy Turano, Kathleen Johnson, and Betty Maccagno, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Leon and her brother Bill Maccagno.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 25th at Grangeville Cemetery in Armona. A reception will follow at St. Brigid Church McHugh Hall, 1000 N. Harris St., Hanford, CA. If desired, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Norma’s honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Service, Hanford, CA.
