Mary E. Schilling September 20, 1933 – October 31, 2023 Mary E. Schilling was born to Pedro and Ygnacia Lopez on September 20, 1933, in Tucson, Arizona the only girl of four children. The family moved to Richmond, CA during the Second World War where her father was a supervisor, and her mother was a “Rosie the Riveter” at the Richmond shipyard making troop ships. Mary graduated from Richmond High in 1952 and started her career as a Legal Secretary. Her career would lead her to live in San Francisco CA, Oakland CA, and in Hanford CA, where she retired. In 1962 she met the love of her life John Schilling; they married in 1963. Mary became a Navy wife. In 1983 Mary went to work for Wolfe Enterprises in Huron, CA where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 16 years. In Mary’s lifetime she did things that made her happy, she was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She also volunteered many hours at the local hospital greeting people at the front desk where she was known as “The Hugger.” Mary was preceded in death by both her parent’s, Pedro, and Ignacia, three brothers, Carlos, Peter, and Steven: three children Christina, Johnny and Bambi Lynn. Mary leaves behind her loving husband, John, her son, Peter John and granddaughters Samantha and Katherine, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Mary will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is in Heaven now. Services will be held at a later date.
