Mary I. Elszy

Mary Inez Elszy, age 82, passed away on July 3, 2025.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William G. Elszy, daughters Denise Cordero and Bernadette Elszy-Perez, son William Elszy, Jr., daughter-in-law Kristi Elszy, six grandchildren, Danielle and Maggie Cordero, Mattias and Noah Perez, and Brennan and Natalie Elszy, brother Gabriel Mendoza and sister-in-law Kathy Mendoza.

Mary was born in La Habra, California on February 3, 1943, and moved to Hanford, California when she was four, where she lived until her passing. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and Hanford High School. She married her husband William on August 29, 1967. For 20 years, Mary worked for the Kings County Public Health Department for the WIC program. 

Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed laughter. She was a loyal and dear friend to many. She was generous with her time and strived to be a help to others.  Mary was a creative and artistic person, sewing, crafting and painting. She loved flowers and tending to her collection of succulents.

Visitation for Mary will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 4-7pm at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home, 100 W. Bush St, Hanford, CA.  A Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, beginning at 11am with the Rosary with Mass following at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 10355 Hanford-Armona Rd., Hanford. The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave, Hanford.
