Maria J. Silva

Maria Jose Silva a longtime resident of Hanford passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Maria was born on March 30, 1946, in Sao Miguel, Azores to Jaime and Carmon Lima.  She was married to Antonio Silva for 57 years before his passing in January. Maria worked as a housekeeper for many years while raising her family.

Maria is survived by her 5 children; Teresa Simas & husband, Richard of Hanford, Mary Jo Burkett & husband Dwain of Hanford, Tony Silva of Tulare, Jimmy Silva & wife Crystal of Laton and Patricia Lira & husband Jesse of Visalia.  She leaves her beloved grandchildren Kalyn Simas, Lauren Simas, Aaron Burkett, Austin Burkett, Kameron Silva, Troy Silva, Alyssa & Branson Alves, Chase Silva, Ashlyn & Nai Silva, Trenton Lira and Olivia Lira and two great-grandchildren, Brixlee and Hazel Burkett. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jaime and Carmon Lima, her husband, Antonio Silva and her daughter-in-law Stacey Silva. 

Funeral mass for Maria will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hanford-Armona Rd, Hanford CA.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Hanford, CA.
