Maria Lou Lourenco

Maria Lourenco, 94, of Laton, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Selma.

Maria was born on December 31, 1931, in Santa Barbara, Terceira, Azores. She lived in the Hanford–Laton area for 47 years and in Selma for the past six and a half years. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a proud member of the Portuguese Society of America (PFSA).

Maria is survived by her three sons, Tony and wife Rochelle Lourenco of Hanford, Joe Lourenco of Tulare, and Frank and wife Ana Lourenco of Hanford; her daughter, Mary and husband Isaac Cervantes of Selma; seven grandchildren: Tyler Lourenco, Justin Lourenco, Andrew and wife Sidnee Cervantes, Jonathan Cervantes, Devin Lourenco, Austin Lourenco, and Chelsea Lourenco; one sister: Filomena Vieira of Hanford; brother Manuel Garcia and wife Maria of the Azores; sisters-in-laws: Mary Garcia of Laton, Maria Lucilia Garcia of Tulare and Maria Amelia Garcia of Tulare.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Antonio Lourenco; parents Francisco and Maria Rocha Garcia; brothers, Joe Garcia of Laton, Abel Garcia of the Azores, Luis Garcia of Tulare, and Frank Garcia of Tulare.
