Maria De Lurdes Lima

Maria De Lurdes Evangelho Lima, 91, of Hanford passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Maria De Lurdes was born November 12, 1932, in Ladeira Grande Terceira Azores to Jose Machado Evangelho and Emilia Maxima Sozinho. Maria De Lurdes and her husband Francisco Pacheco Lima later met and married on April 18, 1954.  Together they had four daughters in the Azores, Lucia Toste, (Manuel), Adelina Valadao, (Fernando), the late Lurdes Maria Guecho, (Richard), and Florence Alves, (Henrique). They migrated to the USA in 1972.

Maria De Lurdes was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family very much. She was an avid, seamstress, crocheter and cook.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lurdes Maria Guecho, in 1999 and her husband, Francisco Pacheco Lima, in 2003. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law and nine grandchildren Roselen Mills, Alissa Toste, Nicholas Valadao, Cassandra Davis, Kyle Guecho, Chelsea Guecho, Andre Alves, Alexandria Orlopp, and Cristiano Alves and nine great grandchildren. 

Visitation for Maria De Lurdes will be on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2-6pm at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home, 100 W. Bush St, Hanford, CA.  A Rosary will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 10:00 am and funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am at Saint Brigid Catholic Church, 1001 Douty St, Hanford, CA. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave, Hanford CA.
