On April 5, 2024, Margaret Medrano passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years old. Born in Imperial, California, her and her family later moved to the San Joaquin Valley. It was there in a peach orchard that she met the love of her life, Robert Medrano.
During WWII, she and her husband moved to live in Tacoma, Washington. She was one of the original “Rosie the Riveter” women who contributed to the war effort building airplanes for Boeing Aircraft. After raising her family, Margaret completed and graduated with her requirements to become a nurse’s aide. She was later employed by Hanford House for several years. She took great pride in providing exceptional care of the elderly patients that were assigned to her. Amid the busy lifestyle of raising six children, she and her husband always provided them with yearly wonderful summer vacations. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed baking, sewing, and crocheting. She and her husband enrolled in a local ceramic class in Hanford. They created ceramic pieces and entered several at the local Kings Fair from time to time.
Margaret enjoyed going to Pismo Beach with her husband and family to go camping. She also looked forward to traveling whether by car or the Amtrack train with her husband to visit family out of state.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Reynolds, Christina Jacques, and Carolyn Martinez. Her sons Robert Medrano Jr., Roland Medrano, and James Medrano. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert.
