Lucille Marie Pereira a lifelong resident of Hanford, California passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of 89 years old. She was a wife and loving mother of three sons Richard (Rick), Larry and Steven Pereira. She was a homemaker, seamstress and textile worker for many years, working at Windy Go Yarns in Armona and Candle Wick Yarns in Lemoore, working for around 25 years in the textile industry. She also worked as a seamstress in a local clothing manufacturing company.
She went to and graduated from Hanford area county elementary schools, graduated from Hanford High School in the class of 1955, and during her high school years, she meet her High School Sweetheart, Ernest Richard Pereira. They were married in July 1955, and over the first 5 years she had three sons, Richard (Rick), Larry Dean and Steven Pereira. Lucille and Richard were married for 62 years at the time of Richard’s death in 2017. They loved taking their 3 sons on camping trips along the central coast and Sierra Mountain Lakes for camping and fishing adventures.
Lucille loved working with her hands, doing seamstress work, yard work in her flowers beds and she loved playing multiple card games and Yatzee.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Father – Constantien Capote and Mother – Jennie Silva and her Husband – Richard L. Pereira, her sister, Angie Cota and another sister at a very young age.
She is survived by her Sons Richard (Rick) and Rosemarie Pereira of Hanford, Larry Dean Pereira of Saint Hellens Oregon and Steven Pereira of Hanford. She is also survived by her Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Manuel (Jr.) and Phillis Pereira of Hanford and countless nieces and nephews, grandsons and granddaughters as well as great grandson and daughters.
Visitation for Lucille will be on Friday, February 14th at 9:30am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rosary starting at 10:00am and Mass directly after the Rosary. Interment will follow at Calvery Cemetery.
