It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Irene Barnhart, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Visalia, CA surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 29, 1944, in Selma, CA, Linda filled her life with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Tami and Steve Sutherland, Teri and Joey Camara, Traci Barnhart, and Troy (Jr.) and Carmen Barnhart, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Nancy Bourne and Kevin Spry.
Linda and her late husband of 62 years, Troy Barnhart Sr., enjoyed a successful marriage by any metric. Linda raised three generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great pleasure in conducting a full house. Holidays and family reunions were hosted at their residence in Hanford, CA, with extended family and friends often pushing attendance to 50 or more. Of the domestic arts, she loved baking, often delighting her loved ones with homemade treats that conveyed her characteristic warmth and sweetness. Linda made time during working hours to manage the office for Hadden, later T.B., Painting, which she and her husband built into a thriving company.
All whilst fulfilling her duties as homemaker and business manager, Linda was an active, outgoing member of her community and kept involved in many civic activities. As a member of First Baptist Church of Hanford, she ran the Wednesday night dinners for over 40 years. A passionate gardener, she found joy in tending to her plants and sharing her harvest with others. Linda was a longtime member and past President of the Hanford Garden Club and for some years organized the Horticulture Building for the annual Kings Fair.
Linda was cherished by her relatives and friends, who remember her as a kind, generous, and joyful presence. Her life was a testament to kindness, hard work, and a genuine spirit of giving. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience, cherished memories, and countless lives touched by her gentle soul.
Linda will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
Friends and family are welcome to gather and honor her beautiful life and legacy during a memorial service and luncheon to be held at the Hanford First Baptist Church on February 13th, 2026, at 10:00 am.
