Lillian Ivancovich passed away of natural causes at age 93 on March 2, 2018 in Visalia, California. Born in Mascoutah, Illinois to parents Irwin and Alma Lembke, she attended University of Illinois, the Lutheran School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri where she received her license in registered nursing, and Fresno State where she received her nursing credential. Lillian worked in Alaska for a time as an RN and then moved to Hanford, California where she met and married Stephen Ivancovich in 1958. She worked as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital, the Hanford Health Department, and until retirement as a school nurse at Neutra School on the Lemoore Naval Air Base.
Lillian was active for many years at both First Lutheran Church in Hanford and Grace Lutheran Church in Visalia, where she was also very involved in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She volunteered in her later years at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia and enjoyed knitting, cooking, reading, bible study, and doting on her three granddaughters. Lillian also traveled extensively with her husband to Alaska, Hawaii, Brazil, Russia, the Caribbean islands, and many countries in Europe.
Lillian is survived by two sons, Peter Ivancovich of Los Angeles and Philip Ivancovich of Visalia and his wife Julie, three beloved granddaughters: Isabel of Santa Barbara, and Sophie and Ava of Visalia, sisters-in-law Edna Ivans of Avenal, California and Marilyn Lembke of The Villages, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Ivancovich and brother Welton Lembke.
