Laura Jonas was born the daughter of John and Christine Kuhl, good, loving, and honest farmers from Farming, Minnesota in 1935. From there began the journey of a most incredible and accomplished woman, who lived life large; who tested fate (regularly); and who was not afraid to take a chance if there was a goal she wanted to achieve. She began in Farming, Minnesota in a small farmhouse with no indoor plumbing or electricity and concluded her journey in her beautiful home in Oakhurst with her two boys: Her husband and her son. Laura married the love of her life in 1956; she excelled with the degrees of L.V.N., R.N., and finally her C.C.R.N. at a time when there were very few R.N.’s with that notoriety. The last several years Laura loved her home, her garden, and her kitchen where she spent countless hours teaching the favorite family recipes to her son Kevin, who sometimes thought he knew better and who sometimes needed to be “schooled” by “she who knew all!” Her spirituality led her to an intimate relationship with God through prayer and Scripture and we can only imagine that on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 10:16 p.m. when God called her home, she arrived in heaven and said to God: “Thanks…but I’m here now. I’ll take it from here.”
