Kody Aram Kevorkian, beloved son, brother, and friend, went home to the Lord on April 8, 2026, at the age of 21. Born in Salinas, California on October 15, 2004, to Aram and Melissa Kevorkian. Six months later, the family moved to Coalinga where Kody attended Cheney and Bishop elementary schools. After his family moved to Hanford in 2012, Kody attended Kings-River Hardwick School and graduated from eighth grade in 2019. He graduated from Hanford West High School in 2023.
Kody’s sweet, sunny, and loving disposition from childhood followed him all the way into adulthood. An avid swimmer, Kody started competing with the Lemoore Aquajets at age 8 and continued competing with TNT club swim and into high school at Hanford West. Kody broke the school record for men’s breaststroke his senior year. Swimming helped develop Kody’s athletic ability, discipline and lifelong friendships. He met the love of his life, Gabriela “Gabby” Dutra swimming. He also was an amazing water polo player.
Kody applied the discipline he learned from swimming and water polo to his love of agriculture and farming by joining FFA (Future Farmers of America) at Hanford West. Kody competed on the Small Engines team, the Job Interview team, received the State FFA Proficiency Award in Diversified Farming and served as FFA Vice-President for Hanford West. Kody loved to weld and built a BBQ.
Kody graduated from College of the Sequoias in May of 2025 with an Associate Degree in Plant Science. Kody then transferred to Fresno State as an Agriculture Science major and would have earned his Bachelor's Degree in Plant Science in May. He was a Pest Control Advisor Intern with Helena Agri-Enterprises and would have pursued his career there. Kody’s first job was with Faith Farms by picking and transporting corn to the corn stand on Fargo and 12th and then continued to work after corn season. Kody also worked for Nick Groenberg Ag Consulting and interned at Bee Sweet Citrus. Kody loved farming and always had crops growing in his family’s backyard, in their windowsills, anywhere he could find space and add good soil and seeds.
Kody and his sister Katie had a very strong bond and were best friends. From the moment Kody was born, his sister was protective of him and acted as a second mother to him. As they grew older, they had fun taking road trips, playing video games, and having lengthy conversations about life.
Kody was determined to finish any project he started and wanted it to be the best. One of those accomplishments was teaching himself how to speak, read, and write in Portuguese, and loved researching his Portuguese roots.
Kody also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, grandfathers and friends. He loved duck hunting in Mendota and Wyoming. Kody and his dad took multiple hunting trips together. He was a talented musician from a young age and loved playing the drums, guitar, and bass guitar with his dad. Kody was in the KRH Drumline and even after he had moved on to high school, he still loved assisting.
He had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, an incredible sense of right and wrong, and hilarious sense of fun and humor. He is irreplaceable and will be missed beyond measure. We can take comfort that he is in Heaven and his spirit will always be with us.
Kody is survived by his father and mother, Aram and Melissa Kevorkian of Hanford, his sister, Katie Kevorkian of Hanford, his grandmother, Debi Tollison, of Daniel, Wyoming, grandmother Marlene Ratley, of Modesto and grandfather, Steve Kevorkian, of Chino Valley, Arizona.
