Kathleen “Kathy” Owens-Carpenter, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2025, at the age of 71 in Hanford. Born in Vallejo, California on May 12th, 1954, to Cleo Owens and Pearl Bello, Kathy’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
She possessed a remarkable ability to listen deeply and offer thoughtful guidance, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. Her sharp wit and self-deprecating humor, often directed at her own sometimes-unheeded advice, brought joy and laughter to those around her. This endearing quality perfectly complemented her inherent wisdom and compassionate nature.
Kathy’s legacy extends far beyond her years. She leaves behind a family who cherished her deeply: her father, Cleo Owens; her children, Robert “Bobby” and Wendy Thomas, Jennifer and Matthew Kalt, and Michael Jr. and Tamara Carpenter; her grandchildren, Anthony and Sarah Borges, Cassie Acuna, Madisen and Alyssa Thomas, Reece and Brantley Carpenter; her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Annabelle, and Eleanor Acuna, and Malakai Yzquiredo; her siblings, Johnny, Kenny, and Cindy Owens, and Eugene Bello; and numerous nieces and nephews spanning multiple generations. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kathy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Glenn Carpenter Sr., her mother, Pearl Bello, and her brother, Jimmy Owens. The upcoming services will celebrate the enduring love story of Mike and Kathy. A rosary will be held on August 29th, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Hanford, CA, followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church. The interment will take place at Grangeville Cemetery, where Kathy will be laid to rest along with her husband, Mike.
Rest in peace, Mom. Your love and guidance will forever be cherished in our hearts!
