Joyce Adine Lasek (Fries)

Joyce Lasek was born in Fresno, CA on September 14, 1944. Joyce went to be with her beloved husband, Tom, on January 23, 2024 in Turlock, CA. Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Lori (Lisuarte) Amarante of Hilmar, CA and Sarah Lasek of Perth, Australia, as well as her three grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan and Ashtyn, her sister Diane (Dale) Merrill of Fresno, CA, brother-in-law Jim (Karen) Lasek of Clovis, CA and several nieces and nephews. Joyce graduated from Bullard High School in 1963. She attended Fresno City College as well as Utah State before joining Pan Am as a flight attendant during the Vietnam War. Joyce and Tom married in 1967 and raised their family in Lemoore and Hanford. She worked for Kings County Office of Education as a Speech Language Pathology Para until she retired in 2010. Upon retirement, Joyce moved to the community of Hilmar to be closer to her family. She filled the last years of her life cheering on her grandchildren at all their activities and making new friends along the way.

Services will take place on Monday, February 12th at Saint Peters Catholic Church, 870 N. Lemoore Ave., Lemoore, CA. Rosary will be at 9:30 AM with mass to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave., Hanford, CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Thomas Lasek Memorial Scholarship Foundation, c/o Kings County Office of Education, 1144 West Lacey Blvd., Hanford, CA  93230. Checks may be made payable to Kings County Office of Education. Please note Tom Lasek Memorial Scholarship in the memo.
