Josephine A. Jauregui

Josephine Anne Jauregui was born in 1935 in Los Angeles, California, to Margarito and Nellie Rodriguez. In 1943, her family moved to Hanford, California, where her father, Margarito, pursued a career in trucking and chose to raise his family in the Central Valley.

Josephine was blessed with four children—Gerry, Gilbert, Gabriel, and Gloria—who were the center of her world. She devoted her life to raising them with unconditional love, strength, and unwavering support, always placing her family above all else.

She was also well known for her many years of dedicated service at Walmart and for driving trucks for her pop’s hay-hauling business. Her strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment earned the respect and appreciation of both coworkers and customers. She took great pride in her work and formed many lasting friendships along the way. Her kindness, warm smile, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

For more than 77 years, Hanford was her cherished home. In 2021, she moved to Texas to be closer to her children and family, where she spent her remaining years surrounded by the love, comfort, and companionship of those she held dear.

Josephine is survived by her loving children: Gerry (Irene), Gilbert (Margie), Gabriel (Berta), and Gloria (Dave); her 10 beloved grandchildren; her cherished 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Albert “Beto” Rodriguez; and her sister, Margaret “Parkie” Torres.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Nellie Rodriguez; and her sisters, Dora, Patricia, Frances “Konch”, and MaryAnn.

Josephine will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her church and family, her quiet strength, her generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whose lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
