With great sadness the family of Floyd Fullerton announces his passing on December 3, 2023, with his family by his side. Floyd was born September 5, 1942, in Hanford California to Dora B. Fullerton and George M. Fullerton. He attended local area schools and graduated from Hanford High School in 1961. After graduating high school, he went on to attend the College of Sequoias in Visalia for one year. After which, he went to work for his half-sister and brother-in-law who owned Ol’ Smokey Meat Company in Hanford. In April 1964, he was drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Fort Ord, CA for Basic Training and later assigned to an Artillery School in Fort Sill, OK. Upon completion of his training, he was transferred to Fort Lewis, WA. It was there he was assigned to a Mobile Rocket Launcher military unit. He was able to finish out his military services there until 1965. He worked for many years for Foremost Foods in Lemoore, CA and finished his career with Leprino Foods.
Floyd loved woodworking and improving things around the home, gardening, along with his love for reading books. He also enjoyed RV’ing, with many camping trips to the coast, mountains, and the desert with his family. Floyd truly loved his family and spending as much time as he could with them. His love for his wife Diane of 57 years is unmatched.
His wife Diane Fullerton preceded him in death passing away November 3, 2023. He is survived by his son Alan Fullerton, and Paul Fullerton and daughter-in-law Traci Fullerton. He was blessed with four loving grandchildren, Blake Fullerton, Brooke Fullerton, Shane Fullerton and Kaylee Fullerton. He also leaves behind his brother Ernie Garrison of Visalia.
There will be a viewing on December 7, 2023, at Whitehurst-McNamara 100 W. Bush St. Hanford, Ca at 11-12pm. A service will follow starting at 12pm, and a private family graveside funeral will take place afterwards.
