Francis Leroy Rhyne passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 20, 2024, in Yreka, CA. He was 87. Francis was born August 4, 1936, in Stonewall Oklahoma to Arthur and Reva Rhyne.
Francis enlisted in the United States Navy, served in Vietnam and later became an Aviation Mechanic. He retired after serving 20 years in the Navy. In 1974 Francis married Kay Taylor and together they raised their family in Hanford, CA. He was a longtime member of the Nazarene Church of Lemoore and was active in several veteran’s organizations such as the Fleet Reserve Post 261, The American Legion Post 3 Hanford and Disabled Veterans. He loved music especially Country Western and Gospel music. He loved getting together with family for a good game of Poker, but he will be most remembered as a loving Father, Uncle, Brother and Son. Family was always his first priority.
Francis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kay Rhyne of Yreka, his sons Timothy Rhyne & Billy Rhyne of Hanford, his daughters Karla Raumaker & Sherry Gayle of Yreka and Shelly de Lisser of San Diego, 11 Grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother Richard Rhyne of Sanger, his sisters Lequita Millwood of Grants Pass, OR, Norma Baucher of Bay St. Louis, MS and Alice Felder of Clovis.
Visitation for Francis will be on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 3-6pm at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home, 100 W. Bush St, Hanford, CA. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 9am also at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Hanford Cemetery, Hanford, CA.
