Emily Carpenter "Kramer" Obituary

Emily Jean Carpenter, lovingly known as “Kramer,” passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 19, surrounded by family. Born on November 30, 2005, Emily brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of all who knew her.

She was the beloved daughter of Amelia and Matthew Carpenter and cherished sister to Matty. She is also survived by her grandparents Jim and Pam Carpenter, and grandmother Debbie Marrow; her aunts and uncles Angel (Arlee) Altamirano, Melissa (Tony) Tippie, Pamela (Gabe) Guevara, Jake,  Marshall Mead; and her many adored cousins Nichole, Kamerin and MacKenzie Vigario and McKenna, Kenny, Karson Goforth, and Skyler, Ethan Guevara, Adrian, Logan, Dylan, Morgan, and Cody Mead. She is also deeply missed by her cat Joey and countless friends who have become like family.

A 2023 graduate of Hanford High School, Emily was a fierce and passionate student-athlete. She played soccer and water polo and was actively involved in FFA, where she served as both Chapter Vice President and Sectional President. She showed dairy replacement heifers with pride and dedication. In water polo, Emily earned First Team All-League, the Offensive Player Award, and the Coach’s Award. In soccer, she was named JV MVP. Most recently, she was crowned Miss Kings County 2025, a title she held with grace and purpose.

Emily was the radiant founder of Golden Positivity, a nonprofit she started during her own courageous battle with cancer. Her mission was simple yet powerful—to bring hope, love, and light to other teens facing childhood cancer. Through care packages, messages of encouragement, and tireless advocacy, Emily became a beacon of strength and joy in the childhood cancer community.

Emily was a ray of sunshine—her smile could brighten any room, and her heart was full of gratitude and grace. Even in the darkest moments, she found beauty in the smallest things and lived each day with purpose and positivity. Her faith in the Lord was unshakable, guided by her favorite verse:

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” – Luke 1:37

Emily loved being outside, going on adventures, and, of course, shopping—especially if it meant sharing laughter with those she loved.

Services will be held on April 30th at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid Church, with graveside services following at Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place on May 3rd, 2025, at 1:00 PM at  St. John's Hall, 8301 8 1/2 Ave, Hanford, CA.
