Edward Souza Obituary

Dad, Voo, & Avozinhõ, passed away at home on July 20, 2014. He had a fulfilled life with his wife Lena, six children, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Edward was a farmer, dairyman truck driver in which he owned his own milk truck, he drove for Carnation Milk Co. He also worked for Gomes Bros. in Hardwick, CA. in which he drove a truck. He also worked for Tulare Hardware as an electrician. In 1963 he began working at Armstrong Tire Co. until he retired in 1983. Edward is survived by his four children, Willie & Glenda of Tipton; Bibiana & David Woods of Hanford; Mrs. Jean Berbereia of Tulare; Eddie Souza of Tulare; Edward is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Lena & daughter Beverly Marie Nunes, Grandson Willie Souza Jr, son-in -law Alvin J. Berbereia Sr., daughter-in-law Marilyn Souza, a son Danny Souza. Edward came from a family of two in which they all preceded Edward in death. His Father, Manuel De Souza, His Mother Maria Souza, and his sister, Eliza Borba. There will be a Visitation on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst- McNamara Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held on August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigids Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Service.
