Dorothy Caldera Obituary

Dorothy M. Caldera, 63, of Lemoore went home to be with our Lord on May 31, 2020. She was born October 15, 1956.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Anthony Caldera Sr. of Lemoore, CA. Her children Anthony Caldera Jr. (Anna Caldera) of Lemoore, CA, Laura Taylor (Allan Taylor) of Hanford, CA and Sophia Caldera (Alfredo Diaz) of Lemoore, CA. Dorothy has 13 grandchildren Destiny Moreno, Allan Anthony Taylor, Desirae Caldera, Anessa Amescua, Arianna Piceno, Kaylyn Diaz, Ashlyn Caldera, Jordyn Taylor, Xavier Taylor, Salai Taylor, Adam Caldera, Zachary Taylor, and Amea Taylor. 7 great grand children Brennon Moreno, Daniel Taylor, Emiliano Bustillos, Bryson Taylor, Anthony Lopez, Zander Taylor and Remi Moreno. Dorothy had numerous nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. Dorothy is also survived by five sisters Carmel and Debra Martinez both of Fresno, CA and Patricia Bustamante, Jackie Gastelo and Tracy Canalez-Lopez of Hanford, CA.

Dorothy is known to everyone as Doty. Doty was born in El Monte, CA to Merle and Mary Martinez. Doty married the love of her life Anthony Caldera Sr. August 31, 1974 and shortly after they started their beautiful family.

Doty is preceded in death by her beloved father Merle and mother Mary. Her siblings David Martinez, Vicky Lee Ong and Joseph Curtis Canalez. Also by Ron and Rosie Yetter and Joe Lopez Canalez.

Doty graduated from Hanford High School and attended Lyle’s College of Beauty. Doty learned how to cut, style and give a good perm during the 80’s when it mattered most. She then worked part-time at Proteus doing clerical work until she finally settled in at her last place of employment with Hanford Community Medical Center, now known as Adventist Health. Doty started working with the hospital volunteering and then was hired full-time April 28, 1990 as an admitting clerk. Doty excelled in her work and soon became a supervisor. Doty enjoyed working with all the staff at Adventist Health. Doty decided to finally retire on December 31, 2016 after 26 years of hard work and dedication.

Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. Doty was a woman of faith and could always be called upon to be a prayer partner if needed. Doty’s greatest joy was being the best grandma to all her grandchildren. Doty loved being their G-MA. Doty never waivered to be there for each of them if she could. Doty’s unconditional love and open door will be remembered. Doty enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. Doty always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family, friends and co-workers. Her laughter, smile, dancing and singing skills will be missed tremendously. Her family and friends will greatly miss her and cherish every memory.
