Donna Marie Scilagyi, 74 passed away on May 9, 2025, in Hanford, California. Born on July 14, 1950, in Rural Tulare, Donna was a woman of strength, humor, and loyalty, traits that endeared her to all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered for her adventurous spirit and tenacity, which she carried into every phase of her life.
Donna enjoyed a successful 28-year career as a hairdresser at JC Penny’s Styling Salon, where she left a lasting impact on clients and colleagues alike. Pursuing her passion for public service later in life, Donna transitioned to a second career as a Detentions Deputy, first with Tulare County Sheriff’s Department and concluding her dedicated service with the Kings County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 2014.
Known for her goofy humor, Donna’s strong-willed and occasionally stubborn nature was matched only by her enormous heart. Deeply loyal to her family and friends, she found joy spending weekends enjoying mimosa Sundays with her family, trips to the ocean, and lovingly cared for her treasured dogs. Donna cherished her time with her lifelong best friend Debbie.
Survived by her beloved daughter, Tiffinni Garcia, son-in-law Jesse Garcia, grandchildren Mackenzie, Madison, and Graeden Garcia. Donna leaves behind memories of strength, laughter, and unconditional love.
Services celebrating Donna’s life will be held at Whitehurst and McNamara in Hanford, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with graveside services immediately following at Calvary Hanford Cemetery in Hanford. THE FAMILY WISHES THAT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ATTEND THE SERVICES TO WEAR BRIGHT COLORS THAT BRING YOU JOY!
