Dennis A. Thomas

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my loving husband of 44 years and father of 3, Dennis Thomas. Dennis passed in the early hours of Thursday, October 9th 2025 after a long, 13 year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family with love at home when he took his last breath. Dennis is survived by his wife, Julie, his three beautiful children, Lauren Thomas Oviatt, Emily Thomas and Randy Thomas, as well as his precious granddaughter, Paisley Mae. Dennis is also survived by his parents, Joe and Joyce Thomas, brother, Nick Thomas and two sisters, Peggy Thomas and Victoria Fotopoulos.

Dennis graduated from Riverdale High School in 1977. He then attended Fresno State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Ag Business. After graduating he started a family business with his father and brother under the name of JND Thomas Company Inc. The business specializes in dredging and dewatering. Later, the business grew to incorporate his daughter Lauren and son Randy. They are still carrying on the family business today.

He loved being at home with his family watching his favorite sports. He especially enjoyed coaching his children’s sports teams and deer and dove hunting trips with his son Randy. Dennis loved cooking and eating; he traveled for work often and would always have a special restaurant in mind. Along with his taste for food, Dennis passed on to his children his love for music and dancing. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
