David Eugene Bracy was born April 25, 1953 to the proud parents of Sgt. Donald E. Bracy and Mary E. Bracy at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was the second of eight children. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 8, 2020 at the age of 66.
Throughout his young childhood, his family traveled extensively as his father served 23 years in the U.S. Army. They settled down in Rolla, Missouri where David enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his father and siblings.
David joined the U.S. Navy in 1971. After boot camp, he was stationed at the Lemoore Naval Air Station. He began attending the First Pentecostal Church in Hanford where he met the love of his life, Marilyn Rhoden. They were married June 16, 1973 and had two children, Melanie and Jared.
David loved working around the church; always involved in any ongoing repairs or remodeling projects. He learned how to play the guitar and shared his passion with his family and church. David also was involved in church plays and Sunday School programs.
He had several jobs throughout his life. He was employed by the Armstrong Rubber Company, the U. S. Bureau of Mines in Rolla, Missouri, Orange Belt Stages, Hanford High School District, Pioneer School District and his last employer was the Naval Air Station in the fuels division. David always poured himself into his work and loved to stay busy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Bracy and a sister, Mary May. David is survived by his wife, Marilyn, son Jared and wife Bernadette, daughter Melanie and husband Eric, siblings, John, Tom, Jean, Nellie, Margaret, and Naomi and five grand children; Drake Hopper, Sadie Hopper, Talon Hopper, Jayden and Jenna Bracy. His children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. We will miss you Papa.
