Our Lord brought Danette Michelle (Macedo) Bettencourt home to heaven on March 08, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on December 21, 1959, in Tulare, CA. She is the daughter of Frank Macedo and Janet Souza. She attended Oak Valley School and went on to graduate from Tulare Western in 1978.
Danette will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40+ years, Ricky Bettencourt, their son, Beau, her siblings, Donna Sharley, Dyanna Macedo McAuley (Jim), David Macedo (Tina), Dayna Foxley (Bill), her nieces and nephews, and numerous other family members and friends. Danette was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Janet Macedo.
Danette was an amazing baker and loved cooking for her friends and family. She was an excellent crafter and seamstress. She could make something out of nothing. She definitely was second to none. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and adopting all the stray cats. Most importantly Danette was a terrific wife and mom. Her son Beau was her life. There was never a day that went by she didn't brag about her handsome son to anyone that would listen.
Danette had a personality that could light up a room. She had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh! Her wit was razor sharp and she was known to say the most shocking thing she could think of, in hopes of helping you see a new perspective. She made her whole family laugh with her outrageous and exaggerated facial expressions, and all her silly sayings. She was fiercely independent and private. She loved all her family, despite their quirks and disfunctions. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.
Her passion for being an amazing wife and mother are what drove her through life. She was definitely a fighter for life, but her body was weaker than her soul. She will live on in all who she touched through our memories of her.
