Daeshawn Bonner Obituary

Daeshawn Edward Bonner, affectionately known as Dae-Dae, passed away on February 20, 2024, in his hometown of Hanford, Ca, at the young age of 28. He was the cherished son of Clara Jones, and Joseph Bonner, stepfather Frank Jones and stepmother Stephanie Bonner. Daeshawn was also the loving brother of Alondra Savage Hanford, CA, Jacquelin Bonner, Flint MI, Devon Bonner, Modesto, Ca, Tra’shonda Bonner Lemoore, CA, Sh’Ron Bonner, Lemoore, CA, Joseph Bonner IV, Lemoore, CA. 

Daeshawn is also survived by his loving aunts; Jeane Watson, Flint MI, Venus Bonner, Las Vegas, NV, Rayona Turner, Las Vegas, NV, Mildred Dean Glaspie, Los Vegas NV, Debra Glaspie, Hanford, Ca, Darlene Galloway, Hanford Ca and Joyce Marie Glaspie, Armona Ca and his uncles; Rober Brown, Detroit MI, Chris Brown Wyoming MI, Norman Brown, Flint MI, Dominic Smith, Lemoore Ca, Jimmie Lawernce Glaspie, Hanford, Ca, Kenneth Glaspie, Hanford, Ca, Robert Charles, Glaspie, Fresno Ca, Jim Glaspie Jr., Lemoore Ca, Russell John Glaspie, Lemoore Ca and Jason Rodgers Glaspie, Lemoore Ca

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Myrtle E Bonner, grandfather Tommie Myles, brother Xavier Bonner, grandfather, Jim “Buck” Glaspie and Uncle, Chester Lee Neal.

Daeshawn’s athletic spirit was most visible on the football field as number 88, a wide receiver and cornerback, track and field sprints, relays and long jump as well as a forward on the basketball team at Lemoore High. His teammates will remember him for his unwavering team spirit, determination, and the infectious smile that never left his face, even during the most challenging matches.

Daeshawn’s kind heart, and adventurous spirit touched everyone he met. He was known for his ability to make friends wherever he went and for his readiness to embark on new adventures. Daeshawn had a love for rescuing animals, nature and fishing especially with his grandpa “Buck”, uncles, dad and brothers. We couldn’t have asked for a better son and will miss Daeshawn every day.

Daeshawn’s legacy of kindness, passion, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Upon his passing Daeshawn was able to give the gift of life by donating two kidneys. Daeshawn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.  He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we say goodbye, let us carry forward the light he brought into our lives.

A service to celebrate Daeshawn's life will be held on March 1, 2024, at 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Home located at 100 West Bush Street, Hanford, CA 93230. A repass will be held at the Last Days Ministries Apostolic Church Multi-purpose room located at 125 ½ Larish St Lemoore, Ca 93245 from 6pm to 8pm.
