Cynthia Ann Wachner, 76, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 2, 1949, in Astoria, OR, to the late Charles and Irene Lewis. Cynthia's journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a beloved sister and aunt.
After her graduation from high school in Newfoundland, Canada, Cynthia attended Fresno State University and completed her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Entrepreneurship at the University of San Francisco. Her thirst for knowledge led to a completion of a Master's degree in Human Resources from Chapman University.
Cynthia had a passion for traveling inspired by her father's naval career. She lived in the Philippines, Connecticut and Newfoundland, Canada growing up as part of a naval family. She had a profound love of being amongst nature. Some of her favorite places to spend time in California were Morro Bay, San Diego, Three Rivers and Mono Lake to name a few. Throughout her life, she cared deeply for her pets, numerous dogs, cats and even a monkey from her time in the Philippines. Cynthia was a writer and wrote several published devotionals. She found much joy in her painting. She was an avid watercolor painter and art lover. She drew much of her inspiration from nature's beauty.
Cynthia is survived by her loving children Andrew Wachner (Yvonne Wachner), Kristelyn Wachner, her sisters Debbie Thompson (Jerry Thompson) and Cheri Lewis along with her cherished granddaughter MacKenna Wachner. Her numerous nieces and nephews will miss her uplifting spirit. Her dedication to her faith and her desire to bring light to those in need epitomized her joyful and generous nature. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Cynthia's life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday September 12, 2025, at Whitehurst and McNamara Funeral Home, located at 100 W Bush St., Hanford, CA, 93230.
