Cruz Rivera Gastelo

Cruz Rivera Gastelo, 87, of Hanford, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 1, 2025. Born and raised in Hanford, California, Cruz was the second of ten children born to Esther and Chevo Rivera. Cruz and her beloved husband, Benny Gastelo, were married November 24, 1954. They had five children, Benny Jr., Yolanda, Sarah, Gabriel, and Reynoldo. 

A devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of God, Cruz was a woman of deep faith and unwavering love for her family. She was a proud homemaker and skilled seamstress, known for her elegant style and grace. Cruz took joy in keeping both herself and her husband dressed to impress, reflecting her vibrant spirit and attention to detail.

Cruz was a longtime member of the Spanish Assemblies of God in Hanford, where she served for years. She was also a dedicated prayer warrior for her family and friends. Her faith and love for the Lord were evident in every aspect of her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her five children, seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her influence, warmth, and strength will live on in each of them.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home in Hanford, California. A viewing will take place from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by a service at 11:00 A.M. Graveside will be at Calvary Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Fraternal Hall.
