With heavy hearts we share the passing of Clara Ruth Wharton on Dec. 27, 2025, with her niece Doris at her side. Clara lived a long life filled with love and service to many.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1930, to Manzanita (Williams) and Wade Hampton, the fourth of five daughters. She and her sisters were raised by their mom Manzanita and their stepdad who they affectionately called “Daddy Clifford".
Clara married the love of her life Robert "Bob” Charles Wharton October 29, 1949. Their two sons, Michael and Robert Jr. preceded her in death. Through the years they also welcomed several nieces and nephews into their home. Doris and Tracey were like daughters to her.
She is survived by her grandson Brandon, her great granddaughters Breana and Kayla, nine great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was loved by all who knew her and was known for her faith in the Lord and compassion as she spent many years caring for others. She was a survivor who held her optimism through two battles with cancer and many other life challenges.
Clara lived modestly and requested her life be celebrated in the same way. A graveside service will be held Monday January 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Cemetery 11680 S 10th Ave, Hanford CA.
