Carlos Garcia Obituary

Carlos “Chuckie” Garcia, age 63 passed away on November 14, 2020. Chuckie was known for his love of his family and friends. His heart was filled with kindness and compassion; he knew no stranger. He was always willing to lend someone a helpful hand. His love for God shined through him and anyone that knew him could feel it radiate out of his heart. He was known for his pride in his Red Indian motorcycle.

He was born in the Hanford Community Hospital in Hanford, California on August 13, 1957, to Carlos D. Garcia and Lucy V. Garcia. Chuckie attended local schools, Jefferson Elementary, Woodrow Wilson, and Hanford High, before joining the Army in 1974. His family meant everything to him. He never missed a morning phone call with his mom and would always end the conversation with, “Mom I just love these little talks we have. I love you Mommy.”

His smile and hearty laugh was contagious and will always be remembered. His laugh was loud enough to be heard from sea to shining sea. If you listen closely, you could probably hear him now. His love for his family and friends was unconditional. His grandchildren were the sparkle in his eyes and made every day special to him. He was a member of the Living Word Church, Lemoore, CA. He volunteered over 26 years teaching Substance Abuse classes and community outreach spreading the word of his love of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, and the message of sobriety.

He worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor for 26 years, at Cornerstone, Champions, Friends Outside, and CDCR Pleasant Valley Prison– Civic Genics. He loved his work, his mission was to let others know there is hope and that Jesus saves.

Carlos is preceded in death by his father, Carlos Diaz Garcia and is survived by his mother, Lucy Valle Garcia as well as his brothers, Rodney Garcia and Tim Garcia, and his sister, Ruth Garcia. He is also survived by his wife, Lucinda Landeros Garcia, sons Cherokee Garcia, Alvino Garcia, and Carlos A.
