Ann Marie Dowd

Ann Marie Dowd was born May 18, 1969 in Hanford, CA. to Manuel and Shirley Maciel. She went to join her dad in heaven on November 19, 2018 as she was surrounded by her family. Ann Marie enjoyed life to the fullest and fought a very courageous battle with breast cancer for the past 8 years. Ann Marie will be most remembered for her fabulous cooking, her contagious laugh, vibrant personality, and her deep faith and love of her family. She attended Kings River-Hardwick School, Hanford High (Class of 87), Cal Poly and Fresno State. She worked as a teacher for the Hanford Elementary School District for 20 years before medically retiring. She touched the lives of many students and the staff at Roosevelt, Monroe, and Lincoln Schools. She was an active participant in St. Rose McCarthy Parents Club, as well as the Hanford West and Sierra Pacific Boosters, where her children attended and her husband works as the administrator of athletics.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 28 years, Lance Dowd. Her daughter Kelcie Dowd along with her fiance Kiefer Rose. Her son, Keenan Dowd. Her mother Shirley Maciel, but was preceded in death by her father Manuel Maciel in 2017. Her in laws Bob and Judy Dowd. Her brother Mike Maciel (Mary Ann),sister Brenda Lemos (Darren), and sister in law Andrea Freckmann (Joe). As well as many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request donation in Ann Marie's name be made to St. Rose McCarthy School, 1000 N. Harris St., Hanford, CA 93230.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Chapel. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 5:00pm at St. Brigid Catholic Church. Mass will be on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1001 N. Douty St. Hanford. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave. Hanford. Arrangements under the direction of Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Service
