Alex attended Hanford area School’s graduating from Hanford High School in 1958. His freshman year he met the love of his life, wife Judith Ann (Frazier) Horn. In high school Alex was a star basketball player and   member of Hanford High School 1958 State Championship team. Alex loved the sport of basketball, especially the LA Lakers who was his favorite team.

Alex was employed by W.M. Lyles Construction Company in Visalia where he dedicated 25 years of work retiring as a construction foreman. During his days off he loved going fishing, hunting, camping and having barbecue cookouts with his family and friends. Upon his retirement Alex and his wife Judy opened the comic bookstore “Collectable’s and Books” in 1985 which they ran for over 20 years in downtown Hanford. Alex loved working at the bookstore where he met a variety of different people and made lots of friends. In his later years Alex would go to the Visalia Flea Market every Sunday morning to sell his goods which included comic books, sports cards and oldies CD’s. There he also made many new friends.

The most important role of Alex’s life was his devotion to his wife Judy, children, grandchildren and the rest of his family. He enjoyed having family dinners with his wife and children, especially when the LA Lakers were playing on TV. He enjoyed spending time with and talking to his brothers about the good ole days and things going on in today’s world.

Alex was a loving, caring, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Alex had the biggest heart and would help anyone that was in need. He was highly respected and loved by everyone who knew him.
