Adelma M. Berbereia

Adelma Berbereia was called home on October 14, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on September 22, 1939, in the village of Raminho, on the island of Terceira, Azores. She, together with husband and their two daughters, came to this country in 1969 for a better life. She was a homemaker and worked seasonal at times for fruit packing houses. Alongside her husband, she also managed their cattle business.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years Telmo Berbereia. She is survived by her daughters Thelma Kolacki and Lucy Dutra; son-in-law Jim Dutra. Her beloved grandchildren include Ashley Andujar and husband Juan; Aaron Dutra and wife Jessica; Marissa Nunes; Brandon Nunes; Jessica Labandeira and Jordan Dutra. Her great grandchildren include Braxton Dutra; Keaton Dutra; Adalynn Labandeira and Raquel Dutra. She is survived by her sister-in-law Delia Farpella as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents Andre and Osvaldina Farpella; parents-in-law Alfredo and Maria Berbereia; son-in-law Richard Kolacki; sisters Lucia Farpella; Entelvina Farpella and Maria Melo; brothers Francisco Farpella and Manuel Farpella; brother-in-law Francisco Melo; sister-in-law Maria Farpella. Her family was her pride and joy as she was for them. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Adelma will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 9am to 11am at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home, Hanford, CA. Recitation of the Rosary will begin on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 12:00pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hanford. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30pm., Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Hanford, CA.
